A showcase for new artistic talent in Tenerife
Set in the very heart of Abama Resort Tenerife, in Plaza de Abama, Guía de Isora, the Abama Gallery by Merkarte offers a meeting point between contemporary art and luxury tourism, where local creativity shines in its own right.
This innovative space, the result of a collaboration between Tropical Hoteles and the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife (the island council), was created to give visibility and reach to young Canarian artists, blending art and nature in an idyllic setting. The exhibition, which opened at the end of July, is hosting a vibrant collection of works until the end of November, available to residents and collectors from all over the world.
Much more than a gallery
Abama Gallery by Merkarte, in collaboration with the Cabildo de Tenerife, is much more than just a gallery. This enthusiastic project has a clear aim: to give visibility and support to new generations of local artists by providing a space where they can show their paintings and sculptures on a rotating basis, following a selection made by Merkarte. In this way they not only exhibit their creations but also sell their work to potential buyers.
Emerging art within everyone’s reach
Under that umbrella, Abama Gallery by Mekarte is showing in its latest exhibition, open to all until the end of November, paintings by three women artists, Gara Acosta, Alba Dorta and Elia Estévez. They explore profound themes ranging from form and female experience to abstraction and the deconstruction of the human body, seen through a contemporary and feminist lens. Each artist brings a unique, emerging perspective, offering visitors an inspiring visual experience that can turn into a tempting purchase. Dynamism, texture, symbolism and movement come together in this trio of evocative proposals.

Since it opened in 2023, the gallery has presented a constant rotation of works that capture the contemporary essence of Canarian art. Merkarte, with more than 20 years of experience, has become a key platform for artistic development on the island, providing a showcase for the creativity of young talent.
