Camping

Sleeping under a starry sky

Camping is a great way to enjoy the great outdoors and get close to nature. The municipality has a designated camping area in Chío, where you can spend the night in tents, motorhomes, caravans or other suitable vehicles.

Get your licence

To camp, you must obtain a permit (on which you must state the date of your stay, the number of people accompanying you, and your personal details). You can obtain this permit via this link and must carry it with you to show to the authorities.

Planning and preparation

The maximum camping period is 7 consecutive days, subject to prior authorisation.

Permits may be issued for individuals or groups. To reserve additional caravan pitches, separate camping applications must be submitted.

There is a recreational area nearby (Chío recreational area), which closes at 7.00 pm in winter and 9.00 pm in summer.

Services

The camping areas do not have their own facilities; however, most of them are adjacent to a recreational area that does provide facilities such as toilets, barbecue pits and water, which campers may use under the same conditions as those applicable to the adjacent recreational area.
