Tides

The rhythm of the sea along the coast of Isora

The tides are part of the natural rhythm of the Guía de Isora coastline. Knowing the tide times is essential for safely enjoying the municipality’s beaches, natural pools and swimming areas. Here, the sea sets its own pace: it rises, falls and transforms the landscape every few hours, revealing caves, volcanic pools and small coves. Check the daily forecasts in this section and plan your visit to make the most of every moment by the sea, in harmony with its movements.

Tide now

Plan your trip to the beach, the pools and the sea safely

Beaches and natural pools

Best time to visit: around low tide to explore pools and lava platforms; avoid visiting if there is a strong swell coming in.
Tip: wear water shoes, watch out for regular waves and the undertow at the mouth of the river. Check the wave conditions before you go.

Snorkel, kayak y paddle

Best time: high tide or the hours around high tide for deeper water and easier access; if the sea is choppy, choose a different area or time.
Tip: the south-west coast offers slightly more protection from the trade winds and prevailing swells, but check the marine weather forecast.

Surfing and bodyboarding

Note: Many breaks are affected by the tide and the north-westerly swell; it is best to check with a local surf school and the latest forecast. Safety first.
