What is Canary Green? What are its goals?
Canary Green is an innovative initiative committed to driving digitalisation and sustainability to transform the tourism and economic model of the Canary Islands, ensuring both preservation and responsible development.
Led by the Association of Tourist Municipalities of the Canary Islands (AMTC) and involving several tourism-focused municipalities, this project seeks to balance economic growth with environmental protection, fostering a more sustainable and mindful tourism industry.
Funded by the European Union under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, with support from the Government of Spain and the Government of the Canary Islands, Canary Green is designed to ensure that tourism in the islands can thrive without compromising their essence or natural environment.
The goal is to promote a digital and ecological transformation that paves the way for a responsible, sustainable tourism model for future generations.
