What is the origin of Swimrun?
But what is the origin of this discipline that mixes running and swimming? This initiative began in the Nordic countries: brothers Mats and Jesper Andersson were having a drink in a bar overlooking the Stockholm archipelago when they came up with the crazy idea of swimming from one island to another and crossing each of them by land.
What started as a simple idea ended up being carried out several times by these friends, who after a few years received the proposal to transform this race into an official event. Thus, it gained popularity in different places, and today we have it in the Canary Islands thanks to DG events.
Swimrun for all ages
Finally, there will also be a route for the little ones, the SwimRun Kids, which will take place in the area of Playa de San Juan. Don’t miss it!
