Carnival. Burning Lucas
La quema del Lucas” is a tradition that originated in Guía de Isora in 1794, as a way to condemn Fray Lucas, a friar who was dismissed by the bishop due to his immorality. Every year, in the month of March, a doll representing Fray Lucas is burned, as a way of ridiculing his behavior and condemning him to perpetual burning at the stake. At present, the tradition consists of choosing the best "Lucas", dances, costumes and, of course, the burning of the doll.

canary islands motorcycle championship
Thanks to the extraordinary work carried out by the Club Racing Sur, in 2021 the Canarian Auto-modeling Championship was held for the first time in Guía de Isora. It was in the municipal circuit at the beginning of September. It was played for the 1/8 GT and GTE modalities. Auto-modeling consists of races with cars manufactured on small scales that are piloted by remote control and that can be propelled by fuel or by electric batteries. The circuit is one of the few for the practice of this sport that exist in the Canary Islands. In Tenerife there are only two (the one in Guía de Isora and the one in Santa Úrsula), a third in La Palma, and a fourth scheduled for this year 2022 in Gran Canaria.
