In March, Guía de Isora, Tenerife, celebrates wine with events and activities. Visitors can try local wines and taste delicious tapas at the Tapas and Wine Night, and explore local wineries and vineyards. It's a great opportunity to experience the culture and gastronomy of the region.

Guía de Isora is a beautiful town in the southwest of Tenerife, a Spanish island in the Atlantic Ocean. It is a town renowned for its picturesque landscapes and delicious traditional gastronomy, which includes a wide variety of local wines.

In fact, the month of March is dedicated to celebrating wine in Guía de Isora, with numerous events taking place throughout the month.

Among the most popular is the Regional Wine Competition (Concurso Comarcal de Vinos), which brings together the best winemakers on the island. During the competition, a jury made up of experts in the field evaluates the different wines and awards prizes to the best wines.

It is a great opportunity to taste some of the best wines, so don’t miss the chance to visit this Tenerife municipality during this wonderful celebration of the fruits of the earth, which is normally held at the end of March.

Wine month activities

Another popular event during wine month is the Tapas and Wine Night (la noche de Tapas y Vino). This event takes place during the evening and focuses on enjoying a wide selection of wines from all over the island, paired with delicious tapas made with local ingredients.

The event takes place in the square in the plaza of Playa de San Juan and is a great opportunity to get to know the culture and gastronomy of Guía de Isora. But wine month is not only about events, but also about discovering the wineries and vineyards in and around the municipality.

Vineyards and wineries to delight in

Guía de Isora belongs to the Ycoden Daute Isora denomination of origin, which covers the entire northwest region of the island and has managed to maintain centuries-old crops with traditional grape varieties of the islands.

Among the varieties that can be tasted is Malvasía Dulce, a sweet white wine that goes perfectly with desserts. If you prefer red wines, there are those made from local grape varieties such as Listán Negro and Negramoll.

The activities are centred around wine, with wine tastings and workshops, tapas, wine and gastronomy tasting evenings, folk dances and the awarding of prizes for the best wines. So, have a glass of local wine, a plate of delicious tapas and enjoy the fiestas in this beautiful Tenerife town.
